The Covid 19 pandemic and the Bowen2020 Conference

The development of Covid19 is presently raising s great concern among many around the world. This is something we fully understand. Therefore we have, as the organizer of the 3rd International Conference, decided to extend the Early Bird prices to April 30. We still expect to be able to hold the conference as planned on June 15-17. The development of Covid19 will of course be decisive and we will obey any decision taken by the government regarding conferences.

For third parties, e.g. hotels, airlines and other transport providers, decisions and disruptions are beyond our control and can affect the conference indirectly. Each person should contact their respective insurance companies to protect themselves from any obstacles to attend the conference.

"This presenter will discuss ways of addressing this issue through her experience of learning and teaching Bowen theory in her local Chinese cultural context. Resources and challenges will also be identified. When introduced the theory to learners of the non-Euro-American culture, the issue of whether Bowen theory is applicable and relevant often comes up, and may affect the learners’ openness to learn the theory. This presenter will discuss ways of addressing this issue through her experience of learning and teaching Bowen theory in her local Chinese cultural context.”

"Negative childhood experiences (NCE) alter the relationship between the nuclear family emotional system (NFP) and the differentiation of self (DoS) level a person obtains as an adult. Based upon the constructs of Bowen theory, this correlational study investigated the moderating effect of NCEs upon the relationship between the NFP and the level of DoS."
